Hi Readers!! I've got some questions for you on Chapters 16-20.
Chap 16: Why does Miss Maudie refuse to go to the courthouse?
Chap 17: What is the importance of Atticus identifying which side of Mayella face had been beaten?
Chap 18: What do you believe caused Mayella to burst into tears and sobbing at the end of her testimony?
Chap 19: Compare and contrast testimony given by Tom Robinson with the testimony given by Mayella.
Chap. 20: Jem seems convinced that his father will win the case. Do you agree or disagree? Why or why not?

Chapter 20

I hope that Atticus will win the case. However the population if Maycommb is mostly white and racist. Bob Ewell, white man with no morale vaulues has more respect in a trust in coutroom then Tom Robison. An African American man with amazing morale vaule is guilty because he is a "Negro". Atticus said a courtroom is a sound as its jury, I am not too sure about Maycomb's jury. Therefore they will convict Tom Robinson of a crime he didn't commit.

Chapter 17

I think it was important that Atticus wanted to see were Mayella was beaten because since Tom Robinson had a handicaped left arm, and Mayella's right eye was bruised. So he wondered if Tom Robinson did it or was it Mayella's father Mr.Ewell.

Jem thinks his father will win the case. I believe he thinks this because he is young and thinks his father is the best. Another possible reason is he is not racist and allot of Maycomb is so he sees everything differently. I think Jem is a Innocent little kid who thinks that all people are good. I would think exactly like Jem in this situation. Atticus's argument is way better than Mr.Gilmers. When I read this chapter I knew Tom was innocent.
